Is there a god?

If that's a question you have ever asked then you are in good company.

All the major religions of the world believe in a single all powerful and all knowing supreme being named God, and many smaller faiths do too although some believe in multiple gods.

Nobody can prove the existence of a deity, but on the other hand science can't disprove it either. 

 It is extremely difficult to prove a negative, but religious faith and scientific faith are not worlds apart.

When a scientist searches for something that is yet unproven or unknown, they are searching in faith. 

Some scientists search their whole lives without being able to prove the thing they are searching for, but that doesn't stop them believing.
